The 2nd Annual Ceilidh for Mike Kennedy

2nd Annual Ceilidh for Mike Kennedy

On Sunday, March 6, local Irish musicians and step dancers will perform at Hibernian Hall in Watertown, Mass., to raise funds for the Last Call Foundation. The 2nd Annual Ceilidh for Mike Kennedy kicks off at 1 p.m. Boston-bred bands The Fenian Sons (www.thefeniansons.com) and Tin Can Hooley (www.reverbnation.com/tincanhooley) will provide a lively afternoon of traditional Irish songs, jigs, and reels. In addition, for the first hour, the talented young step dancers of the Mass Motion Dance Academy (massmotiondance.com) will perform with live accompaniment by Tin Can Hooley.

Tin Can Hooley accordionist Benny Upton, who is a Boston firefighter, remembers his friend Mike as a brave, outgoing, fun-loving motorcycle enthusiast, fellow Marine combat veteran, and Big Brother volunteer. Upton and his bandmates say they feel honored to be working with Mike’s mother Kathy, who chairs the Foundation board, to raise funds to prevent another tragedy like the one that befell her son and Ed Walsh.

Strongly suggested donation of $10 includes a buffet lunch. Cash bar. Excellent raffle prizes.

The great hall of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Div. 14, at 151 Watertown Street in Watertown, is conveniently located on the #57 and #59 bus lines, and also offers ample free parking.
